October in the Plant Shop

Fruit bushes

October is the best time of the year to buy and plant fruit bushes.

The soil is still warm and full of moisture, so by the time the harsh frosts arrive your fruit bushes will be really well settled into their new home.

Bushes are also entering their winter dormancy so this ensures those planted now can focus on putting their roots down rather than using their energy to produce leaves, flowers and fruit, guaranteeing you a bumper crop next year.

We have a wide range of fruit bushes available in store and here on our website including; Gooseberry Invitca (green), Gooseberry Captivator (red), Blueberry, Blackberry, Kiwi, Grape Vines and Rhubarb.

And to ensure your bushes get the best start possible, here is a handy ‘how to’ guide to help you get them planted.
